At Northside Family Dental, we want to help you take care of your dental health. We also know that there is a great deal of conflicting information on this topic, and it can be hard to know which advice to take seriously. To help provide some clarity, we have put together this list of dental health tips that our experts want you to know.
- Brush Properly- The first of our dental health tips concerns proper brushing. We recommend brushing your teeth at least twice a day, and especially doing so before you go to bed at night, as otherwise the germs and plaque that have built up on your teeth throughout the day will eat at your enamel all night. In addition, you should take your time when brushing and use gentle, circular motions to remove as much plaque as possible.
- Use Fluoride Toothpaste- Another of our dental health tips concerns your choice of toothpaste. For best results, we recommend that you use a toothpaste that contains fluoride, as it is a leading defense against tooth decay. Fluoride helps fight germs that lead to decay, and it creates a protective barrier for your teeth that provides even more defensive power.
- Floss- The last of the dental health tips that we’ll be covering here is that flossing is just as important as brushing. While it may not seem like it does a whole lot of good, flossing is important for preventing tooth decay, as it removes germs and plaque that build up between your teeth in spaces where your toothbrush can’t reach.
